Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before your first class at Refine Pilates & Yoga in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

01

Getting started

Is reformer pilates suitable for beginners?

Yes. All Reformer classes at Refine welcome beginners. Our Intro Pack (5 classes for $100) is designed for first-timers and gives you time to learn the equipment at your own pace with hands-on guidance.

What should I wear to a pilates or yoga class?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting activewear you can move freely in. Grip socks are welcome for Reformer classes. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first Reformer session for a quick safety walkthrough.

How long are classes?

Most classes run 45 to 60 minutes.

How many people are in a reformer class?

Reformer classes at Refine are capped at 5 clients per session, so every student gets hands-on coaching, precise form correction and personalized attention.

How is reformer pilates different from mat pilates?

Reformer pilates uses a spring-loaded sliding carriage that adds resistance to every movement, allowing a wider range of exercises for core strength, flexibility and alignment. Mat pilates uses only bodyweight. Both are excellent; the Reformer allows more precise resistance adjustment and is especially useful for rehabilitation and injury prevention.

What kinds of yoga do you offer?

Our yoga classes include Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Ashtanga, Yin, Slow Flow Stretch and Pilates Yoga Fusion. See the Yoga page for what each class is like.

02

Pricing & booking

How much does a class cost?

Mat pilates and yoga drop-ins are $25. Reformer drop-ins are $35, and 5- and 10-class Reformer packs bring the per-class price down. First-timers can start with the Reformer Intro Pack: 5 classes for $100.

What memberships and passes are available?

We offer drop-in classes, class passes and monthly memberships for unlimited mat or reformer classes. Private sessions are $60 for 30 minutes or $100 for an hour. See the Pricing page for the current list.

How do I book a class?

Book online from the Schedule page. Create an account, choose a class and pay with a drop-in, pass or membership.

What is your cancellation policy?

Private and semi-private sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance; later cancellations are charged in full. Pre-registered group classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Clients more than 10 minutes late may forfeit their session at the instructor's discretion.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. E-gift cards can be used toward drop-in classes, retreats and private sessions.
